The annual Alverno Community Conference invites faculty, staff, students, alums, and the greater Milwaukee community to explore a central, interdisciplinary theme through dialogue and discussion.
The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women’s constitutional right to vote. As it is also a national election year, Alverno College will explore aspects relating to women in public life focusing on women’s empowerment through public office, activism, and advocacy.
The conference will feature keynote speaker Tiffany Henry and thought-provoking concurrent breakout sessions that offer views from multiple disciplines and perspectives that will challenge attendees in complex and meaningful ways and encourage respectful dialogue.
